Back to Summerville

A lot has happened since my last post. There has been so much, I have been reluctant to post until something definitive happens. However, I have been reminded that I am missing out sharing my journey. Isn't that what a blog is about?

My family and I have moved back to Summerville, SC. Actually, I am currently serving Old Fort Baptist Church again, as Interim Worship Pastor. I know, sounds strange. What about my life has been ordinary though?

God began to stir in our hearts this past spring while in Orlando and began to close out my time with Growing Kids Through Golf and rejuvinate my heart for the local church, specifically for worship. Looking back at my life, it became evident to me that God had been preparing me for this move for many years. Noticeably, I remember a time as I was serving as Interim Worship Leader before Moses Clark was called, I felt God telling me that I would be serving in that position sometime in the future. It became evident that the time was not then, as Moses followed his appointing here to serve Old Fort for nearly 5 years. As the school year ended in Orlando and we felt God wanted us to move back to Summerville, I was informed that Moses had followed God's leading to a church in Alabama, closer to his family. I immediately felt that God has opened this door for me to return to serve here at Old Fort.

As of June of 2007, I have been serving as Interim Worship Pastor. I have submitted by resume and am awaiting the call to return to a full time staff position here at OFBC. In the meantime, my family and I have really been blessed to be home, with our friends and family.

So how was our time in Orlando? It was a tremendous blessing! We had the chance to meet some great people, be involved at a great church (FBC Orlando), our kids attended a great school (The First Academy), and most of all experienced God in a new way. Was it all fun and games? Not at all. There were some hard times. Many nights where I struggled with my call (I still have a passion for golf and will find out someday what that means, however, it became evident that it was not time for that to happen last year). Finding yourself in that desert place is not fun, however, without those times, the green pasture even gets old.

I will try hard to be more up to date with my life. However, felt it necessary to at least share a bit of what has been happening. I'll try to get some pictures up for friends and family soon. Be blessed.
